The bands Musical Director is Graham Eaton, he joined the band in April 2015 having previously conducted bands in the Torbay area.
Graham's musical education began when, as an 11 year old he started violin and piano lessons, and two years later he joined his local brass band in North Wales on cornet, eventually moving on to euphonium.
At 16 he was awarded a place at Chetham's music school in Manchester, where he continued his violin, piano and brass studies. During these 2 years at Chetham's he was privileged to be offered the position as leader of the North Wales Youth Orchestra, and 1st violin in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Following this he studied at the Guildhall School Of Music in London and after graduating he completed his studies with a teaching qualification from the University of Reading.
His teaching career started in the Midlands where he was able to continue his love of brass bands by playing baritone with some very formidable bands. It was during this time that Graham took up the baton and enjoyed considerable success with a local band.
After moving to Devon In 2000 he continued his teaching career until taking early retirement in 2014.
